Most money lost around colour prediction apps isn’t lost in the games. It’s lost to fake agents, fake payment pages and UPI tricks. These checks take a minute and work for any platform. For what OK Win’s own deposit screen looks like, see our OK Win guide.
The one rule that stops most scams
You only ever enter your UPI PIN to send money, never to receive it. If someone says “enter your PIN to receive your winnings or refund”, it’s a scam. Receiving money needs no PIN at all.
The checklist
- Start the payment from the platform’s own deposit screen. Never from a UPI ID sent on WhatsApp or Telegram.
- Read the payee name your UPI app shows before approving. If it’s an individual’s name you don’t recognise, stop.
- Be wary of “collect requests”. A request that pops up in your UPI app asking you to pay is not the same as you choosing to pay.
- Don’t scan QR codes sent by strangers. Scanning and entering a PIN sends money.
- Keep the UTR. After paying, open the transaction in your UPI app and save the reference number, usually 12 digits for UPI. It is your proof.
- Never install screen-sharing apps (AnyDesk, TeamViewer, “support” apps) because someone asked you to.
- Don’t pay “fees” to unlock withdrawals. Legitimate withdrawals don’t require you to send more money first.
- Check the amount twice. An extra zero is the most common honest mistake.
If a deposit doesn’t show up
Keep the UTR and a screenshot, and contact the platform’s in-app support. Don’t contact “agents” from comments or groups. Our deposit and withdrawal guide covers what to send.
Three real-world scam patterns
| Pattern | How it starts | The giveaway |
|---|---|---|
| “Agent recharge” | A group admin offers bonus coins if you pay their UPI ID directly | The payee is a person, not the platform’s deposit screen |
| “Refund collect request” | A caller says a refund is coming and sends a request to your UPI app | Approving it sends money out, and it needs your PIN |
| “Winning QR” | You’re sent a QR code to “claim your winnings” | Scanning plus a PIN always means paying |
All three rely on the same trick: making a payment look like receiving money. If any step asks for your UPI PIN, money is leaving your account. Stop and check who it’s going to before you enter it.
If you’ve already been scammed
- Call the national cyber-crime helpline 1930 as quickly as possible. Fast reports have the best chance of freezing money in transit.
- Report it at cybercrime.gov.in and tell your bank.
- Change passwords on any account you shared details for.
