Colour prediction apps are usually installed as APK files from outside the Play Store. That makes the file you download your biggest security decision. Step 1: Where did it come from?
Only download from the link inside the platform itself. Links in WhatsApp forwards, YouTube descriptions, Telegram groups and “APK mirror” sites are where modified files spread.
Step 2: Check the file before opening it
Upload the APK to VirusTotal (virustotal.com) from your phone’s browser. It scans with dozens of antivirus engines. A few flags on a gambling app can be normal. Trojan, SMS-stealer or banking-malware labels mean delete it.
Step 3: Read the permissions

Step 4: Let Play Protect scan it
Android’s Play Protect warns about apps from outside the Play Store. A generic warning is common, but a “harmful app” warning means stop.
Step 5: Switch the permission off afterwards
After installing, go to Settings → Apps → Special app access → Install unknown apps, and set your browser back to Not allowed.
Step 6: Consider not installing at all

What to do if you installed a bad APK
- Turn on airplane mode to cut the app off from the internet.
- Uninstall it: Settings → Apps → the app → Uninstall. If uninstall is greyed out, check Settings → Security → Device admin apps and remove its admin rights first.
- Run a Play Protect scan.
- From a different, trusted device, change passwords for your email, gaming accounts and banking apps.
- Check your bank and UPI history for unknown transactions, and call your bank and 1930 if you find any.
If the phone still behaves strangely (pop-ups, unknown apps reappearing, battery drain), back up your photos and do a full factory reset. It’s the only way to be sure.
Red flags that mean delete immediately
- The app calls itself a “mod”, “hack” or “prediction” version.
- It asks for accessibility or SMS access.
- It shows a login screen before you’ve opened the platform.
